Just so we are clear, this was taken from wikipedia - so whoever wrote it on wikipedia - they deserve the well written...but i concur with what the wrote from what i have read and experienced...
Ok an ABCD pt of view? I am very bitter against the V-DAY in fact I have another word for it that starts with a V- but i will not name it here as it may be inappropriate. Please excuse my bluntness here and please dont be offended by my words, but In my view the marketers have made V-Day a prostitute day. Okay so in the States - A guy usually gets the girl gifts and takes her our and blah blah blah. And yeah it maybe in the "name" of love, but at the end of the day when all the giving from the guys side is done, in the states, its blantantly the girl's turn at night. So she has now traded herself for gifts. How awful.
It doesnt sound like its like that in india...yet, but the very thought is just disgusting to me.
My friends talk about it all the time like what they are doing or what they got. But love isnt about what he gets or she gets. At least i dont think it should be. I agree that everyday should be day to celebrate love - call me idealistic, but if you are going to celebrate life to the fullest, than love ought to be appreciated everyday ina good manner.
And i have only seen KC celebrated in movies like Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham. It looks like if you took it the right way that it makes much more sense and is filled with a lot more rememberance of what you have, though i wouldnt know since ive never see it or celebrated it in real life.
Anyways, just my thoughts. Still though, i am very bitter against V-Day.
